On April 23, 2011, Patel hosted an event launching her production company, Ameesha Patel Productions, making her the third contemporary actress-turned-producer in Bollywood. She is set to producer three films under her banner in collaboration with her friend and business partner Kuunal Goomer, two of which will be directed by David Dhawan and Priyadarshan respectively. In August 2011, Patel landed a role in Abbas-Mustan's Race 2 with a multi-star cast including Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, and John Abraham.
